After years of testing various type of bottom imitations with random success, I have unearthed that they seem to be real fond of egg patterns.
That day I was in my favourite corner of the pond and stalking a large carp close to the bank. In spite of perfect conditions, I had been
blanking with my most common
patterns. Inspecting my fly box I saw that fluffy, fat shocking peach-color egg. Well, at the first cast the large carp sped up and eagerly swallowed the
mouthful bait.
