The family Heptageniidae represents for fly anglers a mayfly group of great interest. In Europe this family includes 8 genera, 5 of which are widely spread in most streams at any latitude: Ecyonurus, Rhithrogena, Epeorus, Heptagenia and Electrogena. In the picture a nymph of genus Rhithrogena.
