The Baetis niger is typical of streams rich of waterplants. The basis of the cerci is dark and the Filum terminale (the one in the mid) is just a little shorter
This species has only 6 gills on tergite 2 to 7, the gill on tergite 1 is not present (as opposed to other Baetis species)
