SPECIMEN 1: in the afternoon swarms of spinner were flying up and down on the meadow facing the river. Likely a fall of spent would happen during the night or the next morning.
The male imago has typical lemon-yellow turban eyes.
It hatches from May through October

SPECIMEN 2: during a hatch of C.luteus, at a closer look there were smaller mayflies hatching too: Baetis fuscatus. While duns were emerging, spinners like this one were already in the air, flying their characteristic courtship dance.
This specimen's body length was 5 mm, approximately the same like its wing's length
