It is a mid-sized caddies widely spread in the continent. Other then most sedge species, A.cinereus' hatches take place during the daylight. It lies the eggs directly the on surface or even underwater. Therefore its all life cycle is of interest for flyanglers.




Like for other members of the Leptoceridae family, the antennae are very long, more then twice the lenght of the forewings.




The forewings are charatcterized by a typical white spot on the upper mid part of the wing.
