Heptagenia and Electrogena species dwell in calmer waters and at lower altitude, from the lower Rhithron down to the beginning of the Potamon.
The remaining european members of the Heptageniidae family, namely Kageronia, Cinygma and Afghanurus, may be of local significance in some areas.
